Timothy S. Bird - Attorney At Law
Born and raised in Virginia, Timothy S. Bird completed his undergraduate studies at Virginia Tech. Upon graduation with honors, Mr. Bird continued his studies by attending law school in Williamsburg, Virginia at the College of William & Mary, Marshall-Wythe School of Law.
Mr. Bird began his legal career at the Northern Virginia boutique litigation firm of Sandground, Barondess & West, P.C. ("SBW"). At SBW, Mr. Bird was presented with the opportunity to gain invaluable knowledge and experience from some of the top attorneys in their fields of
practice at the time.
In 1997, Mr. Bird put his legal skills and experience to work for the firm of Odin, Feldman & Pittleman, P.C. ("OF& P"), a 50 lawyer law firm with offices located in Fairfax, Virginia. During his tenure with OF& P, Mr. Bird handled complex civil litigation at all levels of the Virginia Court System. Commonly, Mr. Bird could be found zealously advocating his client's positions in multiple week long trials where millions of dollars turned in the balance. Mr. Bird has argued cases before Virginia Appellant Courts such as Mclaughin vs McLaughin, Block vs Block and Pavel vs Pavel.
Mr. Bird's prominence in the courtroom and his abilities in successfully meeting the legal needs of his clients, led to Mr. Bird's appointment as a Commissioner in Chancery, Neutral Case Evaluator & Judicial Conciliator for the 31st Judicial District of Virginia.
While enjoying his time with OF&P immensely, in 2003 Mr. Bird decided to expand his legal practice by establishing his own law firm. Partnering with William and Diane Stanley, the trio established the law firm of Bird & Stanley, LLC.
Mr. Bird currently focuses his practice in the areas of Small Business Organization and Administration, Corporate and Business Law, Contract Disputes, Real Estate and Construction Law, Personal Injury Cases, Family and Elder Law, including Wills, Trusts and Estates.
Mr. Bird strives to provide all of his clients, no matter how large or small, with top notch, yet affordable, legal services. William M. Stanley, Jr - Attorney At Law
Mr. Stanley began his legal career as a law clerk to the nationally-known attorney, Gilbert K. Davis, Esquire in 1990. After graduating from law school in 1994, Stanley went to work for Mr. Davis as an associate attorney. During this time, Mr. Stanley served as an associate attorney for the plaintiff in the Paula Corbin Jones v. William Jefferson Clinton sexual harassment matter in Little Rock Arkansas Federal Court, and assisted attorneys Gil Davis and Joe Camarata in every facet of the monumental case, including the unanimous favorable verdict before the United States Supreme Court. Mr. Stanley built a strong trial practice throughout the Commonwealth of Virginia, and was successful in many major and/or high profile litigation matters. In 1996, Mr. Stanley joined the Arlington Firm of Cohen, Gettings, Dunham & Davis, P.C. Mr. Stanley has argued successful appeals in the Virginia Supreme Court (See Hollander v. World Mission Church, 255 Va. 440, 498 S.E.2d 419 (1998); and Kim v. DuVall Corp., 259 Va. 752, 529 S.E.2d 92 (2000), regarding the common-law doctrine of property ownership of adverse possession. In 1998, Mr. Stanley founded the firm of Davis & Stanley, LLC in Fairfax City, Virginia. In 2000, the firm of Davis & Stanley opened a second office in southwest Virginia s his practice expanded south through the Blue Ridge Mountains. In 2002, Mr. Stanley formed the firm of Bird & Stanley, LLC with his mother, Diane D. Stanley and Timothy S. Bird.
Mr. Stanley has been the lead counsel in jury trials in both the civil and criminal arena, and he has successfully defended clients in DUI, misdemeanor and felony trials; additionally, he has been appointed by the Circuit Court of Franklin County as lead counsel in the defense of a person charged with capital murder. In order to ensure his success at trial Stanley retains only the best expert witnesses to scientific expert witnesses to assist in providing his clients with a successful criminal defense.
In the civil arena, Mr. Stanley has successfully represented persons injured due to the negligence of others in the state of Virginia for the past thirteen years. During this time, he has obtained millions of dollars in compensation for the injured. Also, he has represented small businesses and individuals before the courts on all kinds of subject matters. Stanley has previously been admitted pro haec vice in the states of Delaware, Maryland, North Carolina, West Virginia, Ohio and New York, and is a member in good standing with the Virginia State Bar, and is a member of the Virginia Trial Lawyers Association and Franklin County bar.
Diane D. Stanley - Attorney At Law
A graduate of George Mason University, Diane spent 23 years as a real estate agent in the Washington, D.C. metropolitan area, where she received recognition as one of the top Realtors in the Nation's Capitol. In 1996, she received her law degree from George Mason School of Law, with honors. That year, she and her son started Davis & Stanley, LLC with Gilbert K. Davis in northern Virginia. Utilizing her extensive experience in Real Estate, Ms. Stanley created a large, successful real estate transaction practice both in Northern Virginia, as well as southwest Virginia. In 2000, she founded Greater Woodlands Title, LLC, a highly successful real estate title company that serves all of Virginia. In 2002, she became a principal in the firm of
Bird & Stanley, LLC.
